tech internship
Alongside my principal, I help lead my school's tech internship program.
As a group, we offer technology support to both teachers and students through tutorials and in-person workshops.
Outside of school support, I speak at conferences and events that focus on speaking about technology education and artificial education in our modern world.
I mainly work on outreach, presentations, and event planning for the internship.
With this role, I will be continuing to attend conferences nationwide and speak with other technology leaders.
ignition
I am the co-president of Ignition Club, a technology and engineering club at my high school that aims to promote STEM to less experienced schools.
My president and I formed this club because we recgonzied that all of the technology clubs at our school required a level of experience and interest to understand the material.
In order to combat this issue, we centered our learning on educating students who were unsure of their future careers about the benefits of a STEM education.
We also teach these studens how to access and use multiple online programs, such as OnShape and Adobe, and 3D print or laser cut designs.
They learn how to code conceptually and think out solutions for technology problems, our goal for these lessons being that they are able to approach issues with a more open mindset and a larger skillset.
mvhacks
MVHacks is a Mountain View hackathon that is held annually during the spring.
My role as a member of the event organizers is outreach, and I spend most of my time with the group advertising the event and advocating for less experienced students to try it out.
Desinging flyers, making slideshows, and contacting schools from around Mountain View has brought more attention to the hackathon and gets most of its members.
Because of this, I work with my other outreach team members to provide the best aesthetic and theme possible every year.
On event day, I spend most of my time at the venue supervising competitors and managing the event.
