I have spent 120+ hours a year for the past three years to design, build, and repair parade floats for a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that hosts a City of Los Altos annual holiday parade for thousands of spectators. During this time, I have worked with experienced engineers to learn how to animate lighting, set up batteries and circuits, and use tools to construct the floats. Below is some of the work I have done and a few words from me in a news article on our 2024 parade.

Wizard of Oz float created for the 2023 parade made out of recyled bottles.

Painting the side of the carousel opening float with holiday designs. Took one entire summer to detail each panel with acrylic for the 2024 parade.

Our final ferris wheel float of 2024 lit up using xlights programming.

Toy train float that we are currently renovating to be larger and more intricate.
